Vision and Values

One School, One Community

Our vision at Butts Primary is to create a community where pupils learn, practice and understand the fundamental values that make a successful, safe and thriving community.

Through our school offer, we aim for our pupils to thrive, feel safe, valued, and feel a sense of belonging.

We motivate children to enjoy learning and become confident learners through our exciting and meaningful curriculum. Our aim is to offer opportunities and challenges to create confident learners and responsible citizens.

Our school values are key to creating our community and are well known to all our pupils:-

  • Be kind

  • Be fair

  • Be safe

  • Be ready to learn

Alongside our school’s values we also promote our four fundamental key themes that over-arch the school’s intent for the curriculum. This includes; well-being, inclusion, diversity and equity.  We believe that equity and inclusion are fundamental to success. By embedding these themes into our school culture, we ensure that every pupil can thrive and aspire to their next chapter in life.

We provide spiritual, moral and cultural development (SMSC) for pupils.  We ensure that our SMSC provision prepares pupils for life in modern Britain, embedding the British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs. We want every child to leave Butts Primary as a kind, respectful and well-rounded citizen, ready to thrive in the next stage of their education and beyond.

Our school motto 'one school, one community' is always at the heart of what we do at our school.
