Ivan lives in a land where the winter is dark and fearful. Starjik, King of Winter, steals Ivan's little brother and Ivan braves the bitter cold to find him.

During Topic, Year 4 are learning all about Africa and understanding global geographical locations such as Northern Hemisphere, the Southern Hemisphere, the Equator.  They have even transformed their classroom to help with understanding these locations.

Stig of the Dump

Barney is a solitary little boy, given to wandering off by himself.  One day he is lying on the edge of a disused chalk-pit when it gives away and he lands in a sort of cave.  Here he meets 'somebody with a lot of shaggy hair and two bright black eyes' wearing a rabbit skin and speaking in grunts.  He names him Stig.

How will Barney communicate with Stig and will anyone really believe that cave-man Stig is totally real?

Firemen visit

Year 4 had a visit from our local firemen who told them all about being safe at home.  The children learned about how to prevent fires, calling for help and how to be safe at home.
